Hi
can you tell me how do I convert a standard CD track to MP3?
It may help in your answer if you imagine that you are instructing a 5 year
old ( I am actually 36). A slow 5 year old at that !
Many thanks Neil

The term for extracting a CD track is "ripping".

If you have Windows Media Player 10 on your computer, then you will find
this pretty straight forward: there is a RIP pane.

I am assuming that you are using the Windows Media Player. First do not put
the disk into the computer yet.

Start the player and go to tools / options / Rip Music / Rip Music to this
Location and set where you want the music to be stored. The default should
be "My Music" folder.

Now in the same window under Rip Settings make sure the format is set to
MP3. Close this window.

Now go to the Rip Tab. There is a statement at the top that says "Insert an
audio CD and select tracks to rip...". Just follow the instructions.

Many thanks Dennis,
A very good instructive post !
I am now having a ripping time.
Thank you
Neil
