cd-rw prodblems

my burner will not reckognize empty discs it wont read anythingon any disc
that ive burned with it , or any game cd for that matte5..the lgiht comes on
like it is reading the cd but then it says the disk is either full or non
existent?
 
Check and see if there is a firmware update available for your burner. I had
the same problem with an HP 420i. Even though it worked fine one day, after
I reloaded a disk image and reapplied all of the Windows updates the burner
refused to burn anything until I downloaded and ran the firmware update.
