Hi,
Sorry if this is O/T. I have a lite-on ltr 32123s cd writer drive and use
Nero version 5.5.7.2 and InCD version 4.0.7.2. After formatting a cd-rw
(Maxell) and trying to burn a cd, it tells me that the cd isn't empty!
However if I choose to 'empty' the cd it is obviuosly no longer formatted so
is not be re-writable. I've had no problems in the past and can only assume
that the Maxell disds are not compatable. Can anyone shed any light on this.
Thanks
Rob

Not sure if this will help you. I have just changed from a x2 re-writer to a
Samsung 52x32x52 and the cdrw disks I have are all x4 bar one which is x2
max. I cannot use the x2 disk because the new writer will not erase at x2
and it shows some very strange results. I can write to it at x4 (slowest
setting) in Nero 6 it says its finished and ejects the disk, if I put it in
the DVD drive it shows the files, if I put it back in the writer it says its
blank!.
The other cdrw disks I have had to ensure the erase function is at x4 only
then I can use them.

Bottom line, are you erasing/formatting at a speed higher than the disks can
handle.

best of luck
Neil

Pardon me if I've misunderstood but, the only time that you would 'format' a
CD R/RW would be if you are useing InCD which is a 'packet writing' program
that allows the disc to be used as if it were a HD or floppy.
The disc isn't empty because it has the InCD 'formatting' file that has
claimed the whole of the disc for 'packet writing'
