Hi, I'm looking for the firmware for the Samsung SW-208F
CD-RW. I mistakenly flashed my burner with the XP upgrade
instead of the win 2000 upgrade now my system does not
see the burner. My links out there? Thanks,

Dave

Dave:

What are you talking about and do you know what you are actually stating ?

If you are looking for ROM code (FirmWare) you need to contact Samsung.

You can't flash with XP Upgrade nor Win2K Upgrade. The term flashing has a specific meaning
and that is replacing EEPROM microcode with new microcode. WinXP and Win2K are NOT
microcode ! They are High Level Languages that have been used to create Operating Systems.
It is impossible to install an OS on the EEPROM used on a hardware device such as a CDRW
drive.

If you want help to have to properly phrase your question using correct terminology !

Thanx...

the FS07 is I assume the one you want where the M100 is the XP
update.

A few people have mentioned to turn off DMA transfers for the CD
prior to updating the firmware.

You need to cut back on the caffene bud!
he said w2000 and XP version of the firmware for the
drive, not the operating system.

It was written in a way that interpretation can vary. I interpreted differently than Steve
Parry.

Sh!t happens !
