CD RW Drive

I am having problems with my cd drive - Everytime I put a disk in, my whole
computer freezes, and I can't eject the disk unless i turn the computer off
and back on. I have checked in properties, and it says the drive is working
fine, but I don't know what this could be. Can someone help?

Be sure that the disc is not being put in upside down. The may seem
obvious, but with some discs it's hard to tell, and what you describe is
just what might occur; it has here.^
