Once a file is burned to CD it is automatically set as "read only". You cannot save changes to the contents of any CD-ROM files while on the disk. Copy the file to a folder on your hard drive, right-click the file in Windows Explorer and un-click the read-only attributes. You can then save changes to it. Alternatively, you can choose "save as" and rename "myfile.xxx" to "myfile2.xxx" and save it to a folder on your hard drive

Although I do a full format on a new CD RW disk, every file is read only and I am unable to edit file or return it to My Documents. Using XP. Problem is present using either DLA or Record Now (data). What little fact have I been unable to find in all the support data for CD/XP, etc.?
