I don't know what I'm doing wrong, can you help please.

Each time I save on a CD-RW, it saved as Read Only files.
I don't want that, I want to be able to change, rewrite on
those files and I can't .. why..? I'm talking about CD-RW
and Not CD-R.

Windows XP Pro

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

You need packet writing (UDF) software for that sort of functionality. The
internal WinXP burning engine cannot provide that function, as it works on
the ISO system. All files are read-only, and cannot be changed once burned,
regardless of whether you use a CDRW disk.

Hi Rick

The funny think is .. I have Nero (the last one) so I did
have also InCD for the CD-RW but, I did read somewhere
(actually a book about Nero) that with Windows XP it's
best to get rid of InCD and to use XP to burn RW's
disc...!!!!

How confusing is that...?

Also, I have Windows 2000 on my Laptop but not with Nero.
Same thing.. all my CD-RW are Read Only Files....!

Why I did get rid of InCD on my W XP Pro is to be
compatible with others XP user. I thought, if I burn all
my CD-RW With XP and/or W 2000 they will be compatible.

In the past all my CD-RW won't play on other machines,
except those equipped with InCD...

What do you reckon ?

Thanks
Paul

If you are using only the inbuilt burning it does not write files
individually but in batches,, in a CD-R manner - the files cannot be
individually updated or delete and are inherently read-only. See
