Glad to help, the drives are easily replaced when the drive
goes bad, even the DVD-RW drives are reasonably priced now.

If it is a software problem, just open the device manager
and delete the drive and reboot.

hey i have had a problem with mine i have tried rebooting which hasnt worked for me at all it still has the same problem and says (Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)) if u can help me with this at all that wud be great. thanx.

See the second "problem" (read the caveats)
Run the provided registry patch

That should fix your problem (basically, a filter driver is missing or
non-operational, the registry patch will delete the filter drivers
references for your cdrom(s))
