cd rom

for some reason my cd rom just quit working, i have had my laptop for only a
year it shouldn't have broke already...it won't play any of my cd's or
games..help?

What happens, or doesn't happen? Does the try open when you use the eject
option? Can you hear the disk spin up? What clues do you notice?
 
when i put a cd in the tray automatic opens and rejects any cds i try to
use..i can hear it spinning trying to work and then nothing

Ok...good so far, any error messages? Have you put a data disk in the
drive? Does a drive letter show up so you can read the drive in a window?
