CD Rom

I am having a problem with my cd/rw-dvd drive. It won't
read any disks. Once in a while it will autorun a disk
after about 5 minutes. I put my windows xp disk back in
and that one works fine. I just built this computer and
can't even install my drivers. I tested the drive on two
other computers with no problems. I tried other drives
in this computer, with the same results. I even bought a
usb external enclosure and have the same problem with it
hooked up externally. I am at a loss here. Please give
me some ideas!

The cable select pins on the cd drive do you have them set the right way?

I tried with it set as master, and on cable select. In
the usb external cage I tried it set as master.
