Will not open when?
When you are first booting?
After it is fully booted?
How are you trying to "open" them?
More information please..

You may want to upgrade the System BIOS..

Before you update the bios, check there at bootup time and
see if the drives are even recognized. If not there is a
definite problem. Do they appear to have power (i.e., any
light come on during boot)? You would probably be best
checking with whomever made the machines for the bios
upgrade if they are from some big pc company; otherwise,
when you check the bios at bootup, see whose name and
level is on it and then go to their web site (you may
actually have to check the motherboard mfgr, too). They
will have instructions with the download on how to apply.

it worked before upgrading to Windows XP--i have a lab in
my classroom with 20 computers and this happened on 4 of
them--when I press the eject button on the tower it
doesn't work, when I go to my computer, d, right click and
eject it won't open
