Hi,

just formatted my HD and installed xp. Unfortenately, I can't find my
master cd-rom in xp, only my slave (and I get error message something
about iKernel.exe when trying to open files from it).
What has happened here? How do I install my master cd-rom? It seems to
communicate with the computer at the start-up though.

Thanks.

/Z.

Go into your Device Manager to see if the CD-rom is listed there as working.
If it`s got an Exclamation mark, uninstall the entry.
Restart the machine and see if XP finds the drive.

Hi,
thanks for your reply. I went into Device manager but couldn't find my
master cd-rom at all, only the slave.
I seems strange since it communicates with the master cd-rom at the
reboot, so it should be there in xp...
Any more suggestions?

If it were me I`d do a WinXP Repair install.
IKernel is the installshield kernel, so possibly something went
wrong with your XP installation.
