i take to load windows 98 via cd rom??

Hi Ross,

You don't have to load windows 98 via CD Rom to check if your CD Drive
works.
To check if the CD Drive is working fine or not try running an audio CD
from you CD Rom drive. You can connect a speaker or headphone to the jack
which is available in front of the CD Rom. If you are able to listen to the
music it means there is no problem with the CD Rom if not it is CD Drive
problem and need to be fixed.

However to load windows 98 via CD Rom the steps are listed below.
1. Enable boot from CD drive option in BIOS. (go to BIOS and select the
first boot device as CD Drive)
2. Insert bootable Windows 98 CD Rom in the drive and switch on the pc.

Hope it helps.!!!!!!
