CD Rom not refreshing

I have two computers both running XP Pro that are not
registering any new CD's that I insert into the Drive. The
first CD that was present in the drive continues to be the
one that is registered and it refuses to update. I have
reinstalled the Drivers for the drive and refreshed the
registry. I think that it may be a virus or some other
type of malicious script but cannot find evidence of it in
the registry. Is there any known fix for this issue?

Thanks

I have the exact same problem on my system as well. I
have tried all the patches I've found in the forums and
registry updates for processor speeds but nothing has
worked. Hopefully someone from MICROSOFT will read this
and see MULTIPLE people are having problems.

Hey guys! Guess what? I don't think Microsoft really gives a rodents
backside about the users having problems, as long as they are still
raking in their billion$, so keep hoping you get lucky! I haven't ever
gotten any help from any of the MVPs or anyone from Microsoft on any of
my problems to date.

Here's hoping! Keep watching the newsgroup posts, and maybe another
user will be kind enough to help with something they've had experience
with

Good Luck!

Norm

Not sure if this is anything but I have been trying to
get this fixed for a while and may have stumbled on
something.

Under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi
\Parameters\LegacyDetection I changed the value from 1 to
0. The pc I am on right now is refreshing every time I
remove a disc and when I insert a disc.
