Mark

We just installed windows xp on our computer and we have
not a lot of programs at all installed on here yet. We
don't even have sound. So ever since we installed Windows
XP, my Cd-rom isn't working. I tryed putting my cd with
pictures on it, but the rom didn't run or make any noise,
the yellow light that means it's working went on only for
about 2 seconds. I tryed other CD's but they don't work
either. Do I have to install anything to make it work? My
burner isn't working either...But they both did before.
Please tell what i can do or try, anything would help,
thank you

hey mark

you can uninstall the driver for cd-rom and reboot the
computer and windows xp will automatically detect a driver
for you. If you don't have any driver computer doesn't
know anything about your cd-rom and you might find no cd-
rom drivers to uninstall that means you don't have the
driver so you can get the driver form your cd-rom's
manufacture' website and intall it manually on your
computer and then reboot it.
