Hello,
I am running WIN XP svc pack 1 and for some reason my cd-
rom drive no longer works. Also, I no longer see my
E:drive that it was assigned to. My floppy (A:drive) no
longer works either. Neither one will read but the cd-rom
will open/close but will not play or do anything. If I
need a driver, where can I find one? I have a Sony CD-
R/RW drive unit and a TEAC Corp floppy. If anyone know of
anything that will actually work, please let me know.
Thanks. (e-mail address removed)

Hello
I am also running windows XP Profesional on two machines
and I can no longer access my D: drive and my E: drive
shows as a blank disc (empty explorer window) regarless
of wether there is a disc in the drive or not.
Both machines are fitted with a DVD drive, one is fitted
with a CD RW and the other with a standard CD drive.
anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Dazz

You have two different problems here. The missing cd
drive might be fixed...refer to info at http://www.kellys-
korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm

The problem with the blank disc...put a valid disc in your
cd and dvd drive and reboot. See if it will recognize any
discs after that...this seems to be another common
problem, but I have not seen a MS fix for it yet.
