Hey, I REALLY NEED HELP!
It is getting me really mad, everytime I run software, such as games on
my computer it always says:

The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Chose 'close' to terminate the
application.
'close' 'ignore'

It just wont let me run any of my cds!
& I like to burn
music, It wont burn a thing, not music, not data, not photos, not anything! I
think my PC is still under warranty, but if you have any suggestions, it
would be greatly appreciated!

Error message when you install or start an MS-DOS or 16-bit
Windows-based program:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767&Product=winxp

This can also be caused by malware, so even though you aren't trying to
run a 16-bit program the above KB article might be helpful. Make sure
your computer is 100% virus and malware-free.

Also, AVAST (antivirus software) can be the cause if you have WinXP SP2
installed:

You can put back the standard version of autoexec.nt/config.nt by
copying a backup copy held in %windir%\repair\ to %windir%\system32\
(%windir% is typically C:\Windows) instead of using the procedure in
the KB article above.
