CD Rewriter problems

Hello

I've just bought MS XP Pro and tried to install it onto my
PC. It gets most of the way through and then reports
missing files, after the reboot. These files should be on
the instllation CD, but the CD drive is not available
after the reboot....

I've seen a few articles on here, tried the registry patch
suggested by one of the MVPs (Carrie??), tried the
registry mod suggested by MSKB article 320553 and checked
the registry has the right disk letter assigned to it, as
per another thread on this forum, all to no avail.

The CD rewriter is a LiteOn 48x12x48 and is on the list of
compatible hardware, it also works fine with my current
win98 se setup.

Is there any other action I can try, besides giving up and
sticking with what works??

Turn DMA off on the CD-RW drive for the installation.
Remove hardware with device manager before you begin the
installation if it isn't essential. This means printers,
scanners, USB hubs, etc. Network cards and modem are OK,
they are on the XP CD.
