Have a 99 minute music file in the library - is there any way I can split it
into two, for use of 80-minute CD/R disks? It seems that I would need new
hardware and software to record the 99 minutes on one disk and would prefer
to use two 80-min disks.

One approach: google for "MP3 splitter"

Audacity : http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ its free

or

Goldwave : http://www.goldwave.com not free but more options.

Either way, select the part of the track you want to cut and then paste it
into a new file. With Goldwave you can smooth the intro of the second part
by having a fade in.

Cheers,
Jerry
