Hi,

I've run out of options. I am running Vista Home 32. Everything has
been good for over a year. Then, all of a sudden 2 days ago my CD/
DVD's disappear. They are seen fine in the BIOS, but there is no IDE
or CD/DVD in the Decive Manager.

I'm seeing that 7026 error in the event log. I've tried over 20
suggestions from the internet, did a system restore from 3 weeks
ago........nothing is working.

So, I think it is time to re-install and see what happens. Problem:
I have an ASUS P5B motherboard, no CD. I cannot fund the driver CD
that came with it......so, how do I re-install??? I mean, once I re-
install, how will Windows be able to install the Network Drivers and
so on.......

I cannot find anything on ASUS's site, nothing at all.........

Can anyone offer anything?

Thanks!

Google Belarc Advisor. Run it and look to see what it says about your
mobo.

Go back to the ASUS site and look again.

Ran the program.....nothing....no IDE anything........Re-installing an
Intel chipset right now. If that does not work...well, reinstall
time.....

It should have told you the model of your mobo!

Yes, it did, but no CD ROM / DVD stuff:

Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5B Rev 1.xx
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 1202 03/27/2007

Many MOBO drivers just like other drivers for Vista are already built into
the Vista DVD installation files so you may not need a separate CD.

You wanted to download drivers for your board. That's why I told you
to do that.

I also told you to check Drivermax. It will scour your system for all
drivers and put them where you want to keep them.
