CD playback stutters

I have a PlexWriter 16/10/40A on the same IDE with a DVD
rom drive and 2 HD's on a IDE controller card. My
PlexWriter stutters frequently when listening to audio
CDs particualiary when browsing the internet or doing
work in another application. This was never an issue, but
I cannot pinpoint the time that it started happening. The
IDE channel for the PlexWriter is in DMA mode and the
channel for the DVD rom is in somthing called "Multi-word
DMA mode". Is there something i should check?

For more detailed info,go to Adm,in control-panel,then
open event viewer.It should give more info.Looks like
alot to be running at one time.
