A friend reported a problem I have not encountered before. CDs playback
slow, maybe 60% of normal speed. He didn't indicate whether pitch was a
problem.
MB is a MSI RS480M socket 754, Sempron64 3100+, 512m of DDR333, couple
of hard drives on IDE0 and a Benq CD R/W on IDE1, Win2K SP4. Its a
business system, no gaming, CPU rarely runs more than 50% utilization,
memory usage well below 400mb.
My speculation leans toward an incorrect D-to-A sampling rate, but I
don't know how this would happen.
Any help in isolating, identifying and fixing the problem would be
greatly appreciated.
