I took pictures of my family and someone told me to have them made onto a CD, which I did, thinking I knew what to do - Well, I do not. Now that I have this photo CD, please walk me through how I can e-mail the CD photos to friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

========================================
1) Create a New Folder on your desktop.
(Right click a blank space on your desktop
and choose...New / Folder)

2) With the disk in your CD drive...go to...
My Computer....

3) Right click the drive letter that represents
the CD Drive...from the menu...choose
"Explore"

4) A window should open that shows the
contents of the disk...right click the folder/s
and from the menu...choose "Copy"...
(if there are several folders...go to...Edit /
Select All...and then...right click the group
and from the menu...choose copy)

5) Now...right click your New Folder...and
from the menu...choose Paste.

This should copy everything on the CD to
your new folder...now you should be able
to open the new folder and find your images.

OK...now that you have the images on
your hard drive...you can e-mail them
by selecting one or more image files
and then ritght click the selected files...
from the menu...choose...Send to /
Mail Recipient.

Now you should see a screen that asks
you if you would like to resize your images.
"Make all my pictures smaller" / Yes.

Now you should see a new e-mail message
with the resized images attached.

Insert an address, type a message and click
the Send button.

Tip: Be sure that the total file size of your
attached images does not exceed the limit
imposed by your ISP...If you stay under 1MB
(per message) you should be safe.

So you now have your pictures on a CD. Very good.
You want to e-mail them to your friends. Very good.
The idea that you can e-mail all the pictures from this CD is simply
impossible because your Internet Provider will not let you do this (too many
files) and the same thing for the recipients (their Internet provider will
not let this happen).
So what do you do?
1. Insert this photo CD in your CD drive.
2. Wait 15-20 seconds for XP to recognize it.
3. A window will open. This is the Autoplay window.
4. In this window you will see the option "Copy pictures to a folder on my
computer using Scanner and Camera Wizard. Click on it and follow directions
to copy the photos on the CD to a folder on your hard drive.
You now have the photos on your hard drive.

You can now do two things.

1. Open the folder and click on ONE picture file name or thumbnail. Look at
the menu on your left under Picture task. Click on E-mail this item. If you
use Outlook Express or Outlook a window will open offering to resize the
picture for e-mail. Click on yes to resize and Outlook Express or Outlook
will open with the file listed as attached to the message. Send the message
to yourself. Then check your e-mail and see if everything came in properly.
If so, you can then send the same photos to your friends using their e-mail.

2. Instead of sending one or a few photos you can send all the photos by
uploading them to an internet site and then inviting your friends to visit
this internet site.
A free internet site is owned by Sony (image station) (and may others are
available, just use google to find them).
Go to:
www.imagestation.com
register there and upload all the pictures in your folder to this site by
following their directions to make an album. Once your album is made, follow
the directions to invite your friends to view your album. Your friends can
now see all the pictures and no restriction on file size when using e-mail.
