Installed a new DVDRW in place of my older cdr. Worked for about a day, now
neither the old dvd or the new dvdrw, or any peripheral I hook up to the
ide cable will install - this is the error I get.......'Windows cannot load
the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing.
(Code 39)'
I was thinking I would try a repair using the xp disk, but - no cd
player....
Went to windows update, no updated drivers. The dvdrw didn't come with a
driver disk, just uses windows drivers.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, Rob

Go into the device manager and uninstall all cd/dvd roms and reboot or
click, "scan for hardware changes", I pre to reboot.

Thanks Nick - already tried that a bunch of times - comes out with an error
stating there was a problem installing the driver for the device.
