My CD-R drive is not letting me write. Previously (the
past year) it has worked great. It now reads fine. When I
try to write to the CD it puts them in the buffer ok. The
problem comes when I click on "Write these files to CD"
the message comes up "Insert a writeable disc to continue
" "There is no disc in the drive"

There is a disc. I just read files off it. I also tried a
new blank CD but no good as well.

Ideas???

If you said you have CD-R drive.. WHich is CD-ROM just for
read only. You need CD-RW which read & write drive.

So you can't write any files on CD-R drive except read the
CD.

If you do have CD-RW drive, it should work, if not, try
download Roxio CD Creator @ download.com

Hi,

Open Windows Explorer, right-click the CD drive and select properties. Go to
the recording tab and recheck "enable recording on this drive".

Try turning the media over if both sides are similar (don't laugh I made
that mistake).
