Hi,

I keep getting the following error message when I want to install a software
via CD.

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. this can occur if you
are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not
correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance".

Now, here's what I've tried doing to resolving the issue

I restarted the Windows Installer service
Installed 'Windows Installer 3.1
Ran CD on a different machine and it worked fine.

What do you suppose the problem is? Please advise. Thanks

Rob

Did you bugger it up playing with it? "From your last post"

I would like to modify the path of some the Window Installer Service running
on my local machine. What are the steps to edit and/or change the "Path to
executable"field in some Services Properties box. Please advise.
Thanks!

Or were you trying to fix it then?
Try reinstalling it
