cd key not being accepted !

hi there ..

just had to re-install windows but my cd key is not being accepted ... check all the obvious, checked and double check what i've typed but no luck !

formated the drive and re-installed .. still no luck
 
Where did you get the CD key from?

Have you got the correct sticker. It's a great long thing. Much longer than
say Office 97 or Win98.
So you can see what it looks like, mine is
VRYGB-PTMKX-K6PKB-2GMK6-6W23D
If yours isn't 7 sets of 5 digits separated by dashes and a mixture of
numbers and letters then you may have the wrong sticker.
