When I purchased my computer it had Windows XP installed.
I can not find the Key Code needed to reinstall Windows.
I have been told there is a way to retreave the Code used
when Windows was installed. Is this correct? If so can
you tell me how to do it?

| And, in the unlikely event that you couln't get the CD-Key revealer, I've
| attached one.
|
| I do hereby affirm and attest that I have included a Windows XP Key Viewer
| (which I myself have personally used on my very own completely legal Windows
XP
| computer) to this post, and that the executable code in this attachment does
NOT
| contain a virus or any other malicious or destructive or harmful code that
| initiated from me, or from any source with which I am familiar or to which I
am
| or ever shall be privy.
|
| Notwithstanding this guarantee that I did not attach any malicious, illegal,
| destructive, immoral, harmful or questionable attachment to this post, I
| acknowledge and forewarn all users that some other agency (other than myself)
to
| which I am completely oblivious and with which I am completely unconnected in
| any way whatsoever may, through clandestine and/or esotieric processes with
| which I am unfamiliar and against which I can provide no protection, have
| altered or changed or swapped this attachment for some other attachment.
|
| Thus, I implore you to check the attachment for harmful code with a
| virus-checker before using it. This concludes my civic duty and my
| announcement.

There is absolutely no need to post binary files to these groups. There are
plenty of links to the utility that you posted. And only a fool would
download it anyway.

Point taken.

Didn't I freak ou!? :-) It freaked me out a bit when I saw the ending on that
file I had uploaded. But, it was late, and I was sleepy. And, I'm a bit
paranoid myself about viruses and such.

Other than not posting binaries to this group there is nothing seriously
wrong with the attachment.

You ran it too eh!

I checked the file size, then did the Protect My Computer in RunAs (prevent registry writes) - because I was lazy. The file looked right. If I was suss I would have looked inside first. It poped up my key like the other versions I have of it..
