1. Why does the cd initiating program "record now" only make read=only cds. How do I make a new data cd that is not read only.

2. The search program located a program in a directory "documents and settings\all u..." The folder "all u..." is not listed on the disk directory using explorer, however the folder "all users" is. What tool do I need to to use in order to locate the folder "all u...". The "all u..." folder cannot even be created using explorer because explorer would not allow "..." to be included in the file or folder name.

Are you actually using a CD that allows Read/Write access ie a CD
rewriteable one?

Assuming you're using windows file find.
The dots show that windows is showing a shortened version of the file name
so it can fit it in available space on screen.
Did you try double clicking on the little divider line to the right of the
header button at the top of the file name column, or drag it so you can see
the whole file name?
Or you can right click on the file name and select the "open containing
folder" option
