The ATI help is such a joke. I waited for an hour and a half for the
phone help and they hung up on me without even talking to me.

Im am trying to install the dvd decoder but it says my disk does not
have valid information. The disk workes fine but it no longer
validates. What do I do ?

Make sure the program is actually looking at the disc.

Is the DVD program version your trying to install the same as the one on the
disc? Don't think you can install a DVD player for MMC8 with a MMC7 disc. Or
some other incompatibility. What versions are you using?

Disk dirty or scratched?

i have an 8.8 disk, I'm trying to install 9.15

Of course, the other solution is to use the open-source Media Player
Classic. For me it gives far better image quality than any other DVD player
app. You also get to do cool shit like dynamic aspect ratio adjustment,
audio advance/delay, subtitles from a text file, Smartshader effects (see
video embossed or wrapped around a revolving sphere...), etc., etc.

I believe that will work. The "break" was between 7.x and earlier, vs.
8.x and later. ATI changed the vendor that they were licensing the DVD
MPEG2 decoder from, which is where the validation requirement came from.

Nope. Doesn't work.
