cd/ dvd rom not working

all of a sudden my cd drives didnt work. so i went to my computer- view
system information- hardware and there were two yellow exclamation points
next to them. and when i click it it said "error code 41". so then it said i
should install it and then reinstall it with the cd. but since my drivers
don't work , i can't reinstall it. what should i do?

Delete the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\UpperFilters
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\LowerFilters

Your drives should reappear (maybe have to reboot), but one or more of
your disk burning programs may have to be reloaded.
