cd-dvd reader dont works

Hi everybody I have a problem with de cd dvd device, it cannot read any kind
of disk, it was working normally but this problem appear a couple of days
ago, i tried to restore de system but it doesnot works, i have a toshiba
satellite a135s4477 laptop with windows vista home premium please i need your
help...

well, my cd/dvd device is still not working, and now i'm sure that it's not
a hardware problem because this device works normally in other OS, help me
please...
 
well i create a partition and I intalled there the Ubuntu OS and i don't have
any trouble whit the device, i did it because i were needed to transfer some
data from a couple of cd's and work whit thios in windows, well it works but
isn't efficient, i run a lens cleaner disk too, but the problem is still
there.

please tell me what can i do?

Hi,

Try removing them in Device Manager, then remove the filters as described in
the article I sent previously, then reboot and reinstall them.

Also, check the drive controller cable, as I've seen a few systems with a
similar issue that when the controller cable driver was updated the optical
drives would no longer work. If Windows Update offered these and you
installed them, you may want to use the driver rollback feature to see if
undoing the update resolves the issue.
