I'm having a problem with my cd/dvd driver on my laptop. I'm not able to play
cd's and dvd's and this problem just happened, it was fine last week and
since then I haven't dont anything to it. Windows media player and itunes
won't recognize any cd (obviously).

When I go into my computer it doesn't recognize the cd/dvd driver, and then
I went under the device manager it showed the problem and that I was to
uninstall then reinstall the driver but I'm just wondering if there was
another way to fix it or what would be on the cd to inform me whats on the cd
so i knew which one had the cd/dvd device driver. Because I can't find it,
the cd's I have don't specficly mention the cd/dvd driver.

Try this first:

Missing CD/DVD Drives:

If that doesn't do it then it's a hardware problem more than likely, meaning
cleaning, reseating, or replacing.
