CD/DVD drive woes.

Hey there, I've got a notebook computer (Dell) with a CD/DVD read/write drive
installed. Just recently I've been having an issue with the drive in that I
can play CDs OK but not DVDs. It will recognise and use the CDs just fine
but it wont even recognise that I've inserted a DVD into the drive. This
applies to both commercial DVDs and DVDs that I've made myself from blanks.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Combo drives have two lasers. The one for DVD's has probably failed. The
only solution is to replace the drive.
