cd drives

Please help me find my two CD drives (CDROM & DVD) which do not function.
When I asked HP for support, I received instructions from someone who did
not know what to do and after keeping me for hours on the phone, he told me
to uninstal both CD Drives from Device Manager and I now cannot find them to
reinstal them first and then hope to find a solution to make them work.

Please help!!!

The same principle should apply for Vista as it does for XP.
