when i tryed to play a music-cd into the drives of my pc (p4 and winXP), he crashed, and the 2 cd-drives (cdrw and dvd) dissapeared.
they are stil in the hardware list, but it says that the drivers are damaged. so i tryed to remove those drivers, but when windows rerecognize the new hardware, it always instal the damaged drivers.
does anyone know a sollution for this problem? please

Hi there,

Download and install a tiny patch from the following URL to delete upper and
lower filters from the Windows registry:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts/xp_cd_dvd_fix.vbs

Usage: Download the file to your computer and simply double-click it so
that it would automatically get installed. Norton anti-virus software might
warn you of a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script Safe"
or similar technology enabled. I recommend you to choose "Authorize entire
script" option next Action.
