Greetings!
After working normally for a few months...my PC won't recognize the
existence of either of my two optical drives. The BIOS detects both drives
just fine...but the OS does not see them...I dont even get a red icon under
device manager to give me the option of uninstalling the driver, then using
the ad hardware wizard....nothing. If it were a jumper setting
problem....wouldn't it have always been like this? The only thing that comes
to mind is some sort of recent Windows Update might have caused some driver
update to install....which in turn makes both drives invisible to WIndows.
Here's what I"m working with:
IBM Thinkcentre A50P (P/N 8432-98U)
Product Details here
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-51809
I'm running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 and all the latest &
greatest updates.
Any possible places to start troubleshooting? Or should I fire up my
GhostCast Server and rebuild the thing?
