I am also having a similar problem. I have recently un-installed Easy CD-creator platinum as I am intending to use the built in features of XP instead to copy CD's
I then tried to re-install it, as I was unable to erase CD's burnt using it and the necessary updates, now I can't access either of or CD/CD-RW drives, as it appears the windows drivers have been corrupted
All attempts I have made to find the drivers that windows use and manually restore them have not worked
Please hel

I have since checked some of the older threads and there was mention about hacking the registry to correct the proble
(See below) although you have to know what your doing to a point
This appeared to work for me...

Do NOT be afraid of the registry hack here
It is SAFE and has helped MANY people
Respect the registry, don't fear it

1) Log on with Administrative Privilege

2) Open the Registry Editor
a) Go to Start then select Run
b) Type regedit and click OK

3) Backup you registry by
a) Highlight My Computer by clicking on it once
b) Click File (Windows XP) or Registry (Windows 2000), then Expor

c) Select export range All; to ensure your entire registry is backed u
completely
d) Select where you would like to save this backup, name the File, an

4) Remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values
a) Go t

c) On the right hand side delete the values Upperfilters and Lowerfilters
