cd drive not responding

I have inserted a CD-RW into my cd drive and when I try to
copy a file to it a box pops up that says "insert cd into
drive d". What's going on, more importantly, how do I get
passed this?

Please clarify something first... You stated:

"I have inserted a CD-RW into my cd drive.."

Do you mean:

"I have inserted a CD-RW into my CD-RW drive.."?

BTW - I noticed you gave your email (it looks real enough) - if so, expect
some spam increase in your inbox. Some may look like they are from
Microsoft, 99% of them will not be.. Never install patches unless you
downloaded them from a reliable source.
