Did an upgrade from Windows 98 to Windows Home XP.
Problem: the boot up disk I created enabling me (if need
be)to load Windows XP from the CD drive, does not
recognize the CD drive. How can I fix this?

You'd need to add CD drivers to the boot disk. There are generic CD drivers
that should work with most drives, but if you've got a really weird setup,
you might need specific drivers.

But the xp CD is bootable, so you really shouldn't need a floppy, in any
case.
