cd drive mounts only SOMETIMES!

Hi again. Thanks to those who answered my last question - very helpful!

This time, it's my CD ROM drive. I have Win 2K pro w/ the latest service
pack. For some time now, when the computer starts up, it will not mount my
CD ROM drive if there is nothing in it, a data CD in there, or a music CD
in there. It ONLY mounts it if there is a program install CD. Someone told
me to check the dmz, but I can't find anything about that.

I have a 2nd internal CD drive, which is a CDRW, and that mounts FINE every
time.

Is your power supply up to the job. Yesterday I had the
same problem with a HDD (that had ben going fine for
months). Sometimes it would be there but most of the time
missing. Replaced the power supply with a higher wattage
and all is well.

It should be! I've had this comp in this config for some time, and I think
the CD issue was fairly recent, perhaps after I reformatted.
