My CD Drive seems to have dissapeared from my computer??? I have tried all
different CD's to see what will play but nothing works. Its not even
registering as having a CD in, or even when I go to my computer its not
there. I even went to my CD burning program and it came up saying there is no
recognizable CD Drive on this computer. I used the help and support centre
and tried doing a few things it suggested like going to the device manager
etc but its not even in there....its not in my computer anymore....
anywhere....I'm starting to really get frustrated...aaaarrggghhhh...does
anyone know why or how this may have happened and how I can fix the problem,
or even if it is fixable? Cheers xo

First determine if the drive is even being seen in the BIOS. If it
isn't, then you know this is a hardware problem and not Windows.

I checked out the BIOS information using the system information tool says
under multimedia CD-ROM....but when I click on it there is no item or
value... does that mean its there? Or do I have to restart and enter the BIOS
that way to check it out?
