Try Cover XP at http://www.coverxp.com which has a free version
(banners - but not when printing a.f.a.i. remember!) and a Pro version
(banner free).
very handy program which I have been using!

So..... you're promoting adware and payware in this freeware group?
Anybody who knowingly installs adware has nobody to blame but
themselves if they also get spyware as part of the bargain. JMO.

It looks to me like he is saying that the free version has ad banners,
and that there is a pay-version. I don't see anyting about spyware.

Vic, I never said that he (?) did say anything about spyware, did I?
However, it's a well know FACT that some adware contains spyware. My
reply was simply a warning to others that to install and use adware is
to risk getting "infected" with spyware. Nothing more than that. Also,
this group is supposed to be for the discussion of freeware, not
adware and payware.

I want to ask you this.... in the past, our major disagreement has
been over CDware. Are you now going to say that you believe adware is
freeware as well?

Sorry John, but yes. I have used several very good free programs that
contain banners that I considered unobtrusive and harmless, e.g.
Opera. Even with the slow dial-up that I have, I do not consider the
banners to be an impediment and since the software is free I consider
it to be freeware. Accordingly I don't hesitate to recommend Opera
(again, just using it as an example) to someone who is looking for a
free browser. I do however always mention the banners, since some
people object to them.

You are correct that some adware programs are in fact spyware and I
would not recommend an adware program unless I knew for certain it was
not spyware.

I believe you disagree with my definitions of freeware but I honestly
seen no problem as long as there is full disclosure so that people can
make an informed decision.

Well, there you have it then. We agree to disagree.

Hi Gents
I appreciate the discussion re: adware, spyware etc. But the author said
that there are *no* ads printed on the final page of the CD Cover. That
is why I suggested the program. If you don't pay for the "Pro" version,
then it just may suffice for what needs to be done i.e. printing CD
covers etc.
Apologies to those who didn't like it, but I was trying to be helpful
with a suggestion of something I have used myself and found it very
handy for my needs.
