Is there a way to make a complete copy of a CD using XP.
We made a copy of an educational software disc for our
kids to use so we could keep the original in good shape.
When we tried to use the CD it would not accept the CD as
the original. Using Win98 and supplied software for the
CDRW it worked. Is there a trick to making a complete
copy of the CD?

Not with winxp alone, Microsoft with many other software vendors are rather
stubborn about giving you the option to "truly" copy a disc. I suggest a
product called "clonecd" It makes flawless copies. You can download a
trial version that expires in a month at www.download.com.

CloneCD is no longer being produced or supported. You may be able to
find copies of it floating around on the internet, but no official
downloads exist of it anymore.

It's a shame too; it was capable of copying just about anything.

Both Roxio EZ CD/DVD Creator and Ahead Nero can do a copy of the CD. The
native XP CD Writing system seems to only support the bare minimal CD
writing.

Y.
