While logged on with an account in the administrative group, right click My
Computer and select Manage. Under Disk Management, right click the section
for the CD/RW drive and select "Change path or drive letter..." Use the
drop down box to select a letter that is not in use, such as M:. There will
be a warning with an "are you sure?" prompt that you need to answer. Say
"yes" and the drive letter will be changed.

Start the "change" dialog for the CD drive and assign "D:" which is now
available for use due to the previous steps. Next change the letter for the
CD/RW drive to E:

Try going into CONTROL PANEL and the ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS and then COMPUTER
MANAGEMENT then DISK MANAGEMAENT. This shows all your drives and any except
"C" can be changed.Right click on the particular drive then CHANGE LETTER
