John

I cannot burn a CD. I have a samsung cd-rom and an HP
DVD300i cd/dvd burner. I am using record now software
that came with the dvd burner. Using the record now
program I put the cd that I want to copy in the cd-rom
and put the blank media in the dvd burner and when I
click to make a copy it copies for a few seconds then I
get an error window that opens up and says cd mastering
application has encountered a problem and needs to
close....then the option comes up to send the error to
microsoft or don't send...no mater which one you click
the record now program closes and the dvd burner
freezes....the lights are on as if it's doing something
and locks up. The only way around it is to restart...what
the heck is wrong..any help is appreciated..thanks

Don't know if this is the problem, but some cdroms simply
do not do DAE (digital audio extraction) at all, or not
very well. Try creating a disk image 1st (you may have to
do this using your dvd/cdrw), then burn (should be an
option in your software to do this).

Thanks Ron
I have made image cd's before so I know it works.
Something makes me believe it's in the record now
software or the DLA. I had this problem before and
recently formatted my computer and started all over for a
few reasons...Everything worked fine for a while and now
this problem is back and no clue what caused it...wrote
to HP and they suggested uninstalling and reinstalling
record now. I think I will give that a try. Thanks for
trying to help.
