All the info you furnished is of little use. The main issue is - is your
CD-Rom a burner or just a CD player. You may have to open your case
and find the brandname and Model # and look it up to find out. If it is
just a CD-Rom, you can check at eBay for there are many burners there
you can replace it with and they start bidding at $1.00

The above is a good start providing your computer info, such as this below:

HP Pavilion 511W-B Celeron 1.2GHz / 40GB / 128MB / WinXP Desktop

Plus what media *software* you have on your machine, such as Windows Media
Player, etc., for handling media files. Do you have a CD-RW [recorder]
drive on this computer? You may only have a CD *player* on your machine.
[Check your hardware list under My Computer.]

What have you tried to do so far, that didn't work? What program did you
use? Without knowledge of what is on your computer [i.e. hardware/software]
I suspect your CD drive is a CD ROM drive, which only *plays* CDs. If that
is the case, you could have someone replace it with a CDRW, or if you have
an open bay, just add a CDRW drive.
