Know this has probably been asked a lot in here, but what program can be
recommended for burning both data and music. Don't need lots of frills, just
good working program. Thanks

dadiOH, do you have a recommendation for a cd burning program
capable of bootable cd's? I couldn't find an option for it in Cd
Extreme.

I don't have it installed, using RecordNow but it is the same program and
should have it. Try selecting "Data CD", click "Options" and look at the
bottom of the option page. Is the bootable CD option there?

If you have a boot image stored somewhere, check that option; otherwise,
stick a boot floppy in your A drive and check that option.

Since when can CDex burn?

I recommend CDBurner XP Pro.

http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

At the moment, BurnAtOnce http://www.burnatonce.com/ & have found it very good.

I used Deepburner up to a month or so ago, but Windows '98 users seem to experience a problem
with it crashing when dragging audio files across to the burner window. The author says he is
working on this.

CD Burner XP Pro looks very good, but the site does state: This program works best in
Windows2000 and WindowsXP. It should work in Windows 98 and Windows ME, some minor problems but
I'm working on this.

Grrrr... had to install cd extreme again to find out "NO", when I told
you I'd already looked. Don't make me doubt myself again!
Have a look: http://home.earthlink.net/~storageplace/datajoboptions.jpg

I've settled for BurnAtOnce http://www.burnatonce.com/, it does support long
filenames, which suits me right down to the ground. It does seem to take a
decent length of time reving itself up before it actually starts the burn,
but I've not created a single coaster so far.
good luck .
