CD Burner

I recently had a power failure and now my
back-up program cannot locate my burner . It works ok and I tried
uninstalling it and reinstall it yet it is still invisible.YET my nero
programs has no trouble burning a cd. What is up with this problems???
 
This is a dell 2350 ,the backup program is "HP Simple backup" and only it
can't see the burner. I need to back up my files.And assume any burner would
be invisible.
I reinstalled the burner and the simple backup.
