Has anyone else run into this problem? It's slowly started to creep through
my building.

In My Computer, the Drive is labeled a CD-RW Drive but once you put a Blank
CD in, it turns into a simple CDROM drive and no applications recognize
burning support.

Any help is appreciated!

Dear Joe,
I'm wondering if my problem is similar to yours. I have always used
Nero 5.5 with my Toshiba Windows Xp laptop and burned without problems,
but since Dec 2005 (same time as yr posting) the burner rejects all my
efforts to burn and the error message says I've inserted a Cd-ROM disc,
but needs CD-R/RW - although a Sony CD-R (700 MB) is in fact what I've
inserted for the burning. Can you suggest who else i can write to for
help with this problem, have you had many responses from here or
elsewhere?
Cheers

The problem I am having doesn't generate any type of error. The programs
just sit at the point where they
are waiting for the 2nd disc. There is nothing I can find that shows any
program error, hang etc.
